Scale
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked pasta (penne, rigatoni, or similar), drained and cooled
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Cook Pasta: Ensure the pasta is cooked al dente according to package instructions, then drain it well and allow it to cool completely.
- Prepare Seasoning: In a large bowl, combine the cooled pasta with olive oil, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes if using.
- Season: Add salt and freshly ground black pepper generously to the mixture and toss until the pasta is evenly coated with all the ingredients.
- Preheat Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and allow it to preheat for a few minutes.
- Arrange Pasta: Place a single layer of the seasoned pasta chips into the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding to ensure even cooking; work in batches if necessary.
- Air Fry: Cook the pasta chips for 8-12 minutes until golden brown and crispy, shaking the basket halfway through to promote even browning.
- Drain: Once cooked, remove the pasta chips and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
- Repeat: Continue air frying the remaining pasta in batches, following the same process.
- Serve: Serve the pasta chips immediately while warm and crispy, accompanied by your favorite dipping sauces such as marinara, ranch, pesto, cheese sauce, or spicy mayo.
Notes
- Use cooked pasta that is completely cooled for best results; warm or wet pasta will not crisp properly.
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket, as this will prevent even crisping.
- Adjust seasoning to taste or experiment with different spices to suit your preference.
- Serve immediately for optimal crispiness; pasta chips can lose crunch if stored for long periods.
- These chips are best made with tubular pasta shapes like penne or rigatoni for ideal crispiness.
