Additional Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
- 1/2 cup ice cubes
- Tapioca pearls (optional, cooked according to package instructions)
Instructions
- Boil and Steep – In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add the butterfly pea flower tea bags (or dried flowers) and one black tea bag, then turn off the heat. Let the tea steep for 5 to 7 minutes until it turns a vibrant blue color.

- Prepare Milk Mixture – In a separate cup, combine 1/2 cup of whole milk (or your choice of plant-based milk) with 2 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk. Mix until well combined and creamy.
- Assemble the Drink – Fill a glass with 1/2 cup of ice cubes and optional cooked tapioca pearls. Pour the blue tea over the ice first.
- Layer the Milk – Slowly pour the milk mixture over the tea to create a beautiful layered effect of blue and creamy white.
- Serve – Stir the drink before drinking to blend the flavors and enjoy your vibrant, refreshing Blue Milk Tea.
Notes
- For a purple hue, add a squeeze of lemon juice to the butterfly pea tea before adding the milk.
- Coconut milk or oat milk works great as dairy-free milk alternatives.
- Adjust the sweetness with more or less sugar or condensed milk to suit your taste.
