Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Caprese Skewers featuring cherry tomatoes, fresh basil, and mini mozzarella balls, drizzled with extra-virgin olive oil and balsamic glaze. Perfect as a refreshing appetizer or party finger food that comes together in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Skewers

  • 16 to 18 (4-inch) wooden skewers

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pint cherry or grape tomatoes
  • 1 (12-ounce) container miniature cherry-sized fresh mozzarella balls (ciliegine)
  • 1 bunch fresh basil leaves (about 36 leaves)

Seasoning & Garnish

  • Extra-virgin olive oil, for drizzling
  • Balsamic glaze, for drizzling
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Thread Ingredients: Take one wooden skewer and thread on 1 cherry tomato, followed by 1 fresh basil leaf, then 1 mini mozzarella ball, another fresh basil leaf, and finish with 1 more cherry tomato. Repeat for all skewers.
  2. Arrange Skewers: Place all the prepared skewers neatly on a serving platter, arranging them in an appealing way for easy grabbing.
  3. Drizzle and Season: Lightly drizzle the skewers with extra-virgin olive oil and balsamic glaze. Sprinkle kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper over the skewers to season just before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh, ripe cherry tomatoes for the best flavor.
  • Mini mozzarella balls (ciliegine) are ideal for bite-sized skewers, easily found in most grocery stores.
  • Balsamic glaze can be substituted with a balsamic reduction or balsamic vinegar if glaze is unavailable.
  • Serve immediately after assembling to keep the basil fresh and prevent the mozzarella from becoming soggy.
  • For a variation, add a small piece of prosciutto or a drizzle of pesto before serving.
