Ingredients
Scale
Banana Chips
- 2 ripe but firm bananas
- 1 tablespoon melted coconut oil or neutral oil
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- pinch of salt
Instructions
- Prepare the Bananas: Peel the bananas and slice them into thin, even rounds about 1/8 inch thick, ensuring they will crisp nicely when cooked.
- Mix the Cinnamon-Sugar: In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt to create the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Coat the Banana Slices: Gently toss the banana slices with the melted coconut or neutral oil to lightly coat them, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the slices and toss again for even coverage.
- Arrange in Air Fryer: Place the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they do not overlap to allow even crisping.
- Air Fry: Cook the bananas at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes. Flip the slices halfway through the cooking time to ensure all sides become golden and crisp.
- Cool and Serve: Let the banana chips cool for a few minutes after cooking to allow them to crisp up fully before serving.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, slice bananas thinner and increase the cooking time by 1-2 minutes.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days to maintain freshness.
- Best enjoyed the same day for the most crunchy texture.
