Description

Crispy and sweet Cinnamon-Sugar Air Fryer Banana Chips make for a delightful and healthy snack. Made with ripe yet firm bananas, a touch of cinnamon and sugar, and cooked to perfection in the air fryer, these chips offer a crunchy treat perfect for any time of day.

Ingredients

Scale

Banana Chips

  • 2 ripe but firm bananas
  • 1 tablespoon melted coconut oil or neutral oil
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bananas: Peel the bananas and slice them into thin, even rounds about 1/8 inch thick, ensuring they will crisp nicely when cooked.
  2. Mix the Cinnamon-Sugar: In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt to create the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  3. Coat the Banana Slices: Gently toss the banana slices with the melted coconut or neutral oil to lightly coat them, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the slices and toss again for even coverage.
  4. Arrange in Air Fryer: Place the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they do not overlap to allow even crisping.
  5. Air Fry: Cook the bananas at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes. Flip the slices halfway through the cooking time to ensure all sides become golden and crisp.
  6. Cool and Serve: Let the banana chips cool for a few minutes after cooking to allow them to crisp up fully before serving.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, slice bananas thinner and increase the cooking time by 1-2 minutes.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days to maintain freshness.
  • Best enjoyed the same day for the most crunchy texture.
