Ingredients
Scale
Crescent Roll Dough
- 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough
Filling
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup cooked crab meat (or imitation crab), chopped
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Topping (Optional)
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to ensure easy cleanup and prevent sticking.
- Prepare the crab mixture: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, chopped crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley if using, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Roll out the crescent dough: Unroll the crescent dough onto a clean, flat surface. Separate it into individual triangles along the perforated lines to prepare for filling.
- Fill the crescent dough: Spoon a generous amount of the crab filling onto the wider end of each crescent triangle. Carefully roll up the dough around the filling, starting at the wider end, and place each rolled crescent on the prepared baking sheet with the seam side down.
- Optional cheese topping: If desired, sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of each crescent bite to add a melty, golden finish once baked.
- Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent dough is puffed up and golden brown on the outside.
- Serve: Remove the crab crescent bites from the oven and let them cool slightly for a few minutes. Serve warm as a flavorful appetizer or snack.
Notes
- For best results, use fresh crab meat, but imitation crab can be substituted for an economical option.
- Make sure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature for easier mixing.
- Adding parsley is optional but adds a fresh herbaceous note and color contrast.
- Enjoy these bites fresh out of the oven for optimum flakiness and flavor.
- These can be made ahead and baked just before serving for convenience.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days, and reheat gently before serving.
