Ingredients
Scale
Cheese and Coating
- 8 oz Boursin cheese (garlic & herb flavor)
- ¼ cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese, grated (optional)
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)
Finishing
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for drizzling)
- Crackers, sliced baguette, or fresh vegetables for serving
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s at the right temperature for baking the cheese until crispy and golden.
- Prepare Breadcrumb Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, melted butter, chopped parsley, grated Parmesan cheese (if using), and lemon zest. Mix well to evenly coat the crumbs with butter and seasonings.
- Coat Boursin Cheese: Place the Boursin cheese on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Generously cover the top and sides of the cheese with the prepared breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to help it stick.
- Bake the Cheese: Drizzle the coated cheese with olive oil to promote browning. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the breadcrumb crust is golden brown and crisp.
- Serve Warm: Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly for a few minutes. Serve warm with crackers, sliced baguette, or fresh vegetables for dipping and spreading.
Notes
- You can substitute the garlic & herb Boursin with any other flavored soft cheese, but the garlic & herb pairs best with the crispy crust.
- If you prefer a stronger cheese flavor, increase the Parmesan cheese in the breadcrumb mixture.
- For extra zestiness, add additional lemon zest or a squeeze of fresh lemon juice before serving.
- Be careful not to overbake, as the cheese can melt and lose its shape if baked too long.
