Description

This Crispy Baked Boursin recipe transforms creamy garlic & herb Boursin cheese into a warm, golden, and crunchy appetizer that’s perfect for entertaining. Coated with buttery panko breadcrumbs and fresh parsley, it’s baked to perfection and served with crackers or fresh vegetables for an irresistible snack or party starter.

Ingredients

Scale

Cheese and Coating

  • 8 oz Boursin cheese (garlic & herb flavor)
  • ¼ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese, grated (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)

Finishing

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for drizzling)
  • Crackers, sliced baguette, or fresh vegetables for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s at the right temperature for baking the cheese until crispy and golden.
  2. Prepare Breadcrumb Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, melted butter, chopped parsley, grated Parmesan cheese (if using), and lemon zest. Mix well to evenly coat the crumbs with butter and seasonings.
  3. Coat Boursin Cheese: Place the Boursin cheese on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Generously cover the top and sides of the cheese with the prepared breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to help it stick.
  4. Bake the Cheese: Drizzle the coated cheese with olive oil to promote browning. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the breadcrumb crust is golden brown and crisp.
  5. Serve Warm: Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly for a few minutes. Serve warm with crackers, sliced baguette, or fresh vegetables for dipping and spreading.

Notes

  • You can substitute the garlic & herb Boursin with any other flavored soft cheese, but the garlic & herb pairs best with the crispy crust.
  • If you prefer a stronger cheese flavor, increase the Parmesan cheese in the breadcrumb mixture.
  • For extra zestiness, add additional lemon zest or a squeeze of fresh lemon juice before serving.
  • Be careful not to overbake, as the cheese can melt and lose its shape if baked too long.
