Description

This Dill Pickle Hot Sauce is a tangy, spicy condiment that combines the bold flavors of dill pickles, jalapeños, and garlic. Perfect for adding a zesty kick to sandwiches, burgers, or snacks, this easy-to-make sauce blends fresh ingredients with pickle juice for a unique and vibrant hot sauce experience.

Ingredients

Scale

Pickle Base

  • 1 cup Dill pickles, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Pickle juice

Spices & Peppers

  • 2-3 pieces Jalapeños, seeded (Adjust for desired heat)
  • 1 piece Habanero pepper (Optional for extra heat)
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Chop Ingredients: Start by chopping the dill pickles into small pieces. Mince the garlic cloves finely, and prepare the jalapeños by removing the seeds if you prefer a milder heat level.
  2. Blend Ingredients: In a blender, combine the chopped dill pickles, pickle juice, seeded jalapeños, minced garlic, and if you want extra heat, add the habanero pepper as well. Blend the mixture until it reaches your desired consistency, whether smooth or slightly chunky.
  3. Adjust Flavors: Taste the hot sauce and make any adjustments needed by adding more jalapeños if you want more heat, or more pickle juice if you prefer a thinner sauce consistency. Blend again briefly if you add more ingredients.
  4. Store: Transfer the finished hot sauce into a clean jar or bottle. Chill it in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld and intensify.

Notes

  • The habanero pepper is optional and should be added carefully as it can make the sauce very spicy.
  • For milder sauce, remove all seeds from the jalapeños or reduce the number used.
  • The sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  • Use fresh garlic for the best flavor impact in the hot sauce.
  • Adjust the thickness by adding more or less pickle juice as preferred.
