Description

This Easy Monkey Bread recipe features sweet, cinnamon-coated dough bites baked together in a bundt pan and drizzled with a buttery brown sugar sauce. Using canned cinnamon roll dough makes the process incredibly simple and quick, resulting in a gooey, pull-apart treat perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 cans Grands Cinnamon Rolls (with icing, optional for topping)
  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 cup butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the monkey bread.
  2. Prepare the Pan: Lightly grease a cake or fluted bundt pan to prevent sticking and make it easy to remove the bread after baking.
  3. Mix Cinnamon Sugar: In a large Ziploc bag, combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Shake the bag to mix these ingredients evenly.
  4. Prepare the Dough: Separate the cinnamon roll dough from the cans and cut each roll into quarters to create evenly sized dough pieces for coating and baking.
  5. Coat the Dough: Place the quartered dough pieces into the cinnamon sugar bag, seal it, and shake until all pieces are thoroughly coated with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  6. Arrange in Pan: Carefully remove the coated dough pieces from the bag and arrange them evenly in the prepared bundt pan, layering as necessary to fit all pieces.
  7. Make Sauce: In a small bowl, combine the firmly packed 1 cup brown sugar and 1 cup melted butter, mixing well until fully incorporated. Pour this mixture evenly over the dough pieces in the bundt pan.
  8. Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 28 to 32 minutes, or until the monkey bread is golden brown and cooked through without any doughy centers.
  9. Cool and Invert: Remove the monkey bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then invert the pan onto a serving plate to release the bread.
  10. Serve: Pull apart the monkey bread while warm. Optionally, drizzle the reserved icing from the cinnamon roll cans over the top before serving for extra sweetness.

Notes

  • Using canned cinnamon rolls makes this recipe quick and easy, but fresh dough can also be used.
  • Greasing the bundt pan well prevents sticking and helps the bread release easily.
  • If you prefer less sweetness, reduce the amount of brown sugar in the sauce.
  • The optional icing drizzle adds a nice finishing touch but can be omitted for a less sweet serving.
  • Allow the bread to cool slightly before inverting to avoid breaking it apart.
