Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 cans Grands Cinnamon Rolls (with icing, optional for topping)
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 cup butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the monkey bread.
- Prepare the Pan: Lightly grease a cake or fluted bundt pan to prevent sticking and make it easy to remove the bread after baking.
- Mix Cinnamon Sugar: In a large Ziploc bag, combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Shake the bag to mix these ingredients evenly.
- Prepare the Dough: Separate the cinnamon roll dough from the cans and cut each roll into quarters to create evenly sized dough pieces for coating and baking.
- Coat the Dough: Place the quartered dough pieces into the cinnamon sugar bag, seal it, and shake until all pieces are thoroughly coated with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Arrange in Pan: Carefully remove the coated dough pieces from the bag and arrange them evenly in the prepared bundt pan, layering as necessary to fit all pieces.
- Make Sauce: In a small bowl, combine the firmly packed 1 cup brown sugar and 1 cup melted butter, mixing well until fully incorporated. Pour this mixture evenly over the dough pieces in the bundt pan.
- Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 28 to 32 minutes, or until the monkey bread is golden brown and cooked through without any doughy centers.
- Cool and Invert: Remove the monkey bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then invert the pan onto a serving plate to release the bread.
- Serve: Pull apart the monkey bread while warm. Optionally, drizzle the reserved icing from the cinnamon roll cans over the top before serving for extra sweetness.
Notes
- Using canned cinnamon rolls makes this recipe quick and easy, but fresh dough can also be used.
- Greasing the bundt pan well prevents sticking and helps the bread release easily.
- If you prefer less sweetness, reduce the amount of brown sugar in the sauce.
- The optional icing drizzle adds a nice finishing touch but can be omitted for a less sweet serving.
- Allow the bread to cool slightly before inverting to avoid breaking it apart.
