Scale
For the Chicken
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)
For the Creamy Garlic Sauce
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup chicken broth (or water)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce (or to taste)
- 1 teaspoon sugar (to balance the heat)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground chili flakes (optional for extra spice)
For the Ramen and Garnish
- 2 packs of ramen noodles (discard the seasoning packet)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil (for cooking)
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions (for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
- Fresh chili slices or chili flakes (optional, for garnish)
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken: Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using). Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken breasts and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side until fully cooked and golden brown, making sure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Remove the chicken and let it rest before slicing into thin strips.
- Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce: Using the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and lightly golden. Stir in the heavy cream, chicken broth, soy sauce, hot sauce, and sugar. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened. Season with salt, pepper, oregano, and chili flakes if desired. Keep warm on low heat.
- Cook the Ramen: Bring a medium pot of water to a boil. Add the ramen noodles and cook according to package instructions, typically 3-4 minutes. Drain the noodles and toss them with sesame oil to prevent sticking and add flavor.
- Assemble the Dish: Divide the cooked ramen noodles between two bowls. Pour the creamy garlic sauce over the noodles, then arrange the sliced chicken on top. Garnish with chopped green onions, sesame seeds, fresh chili slices, and cilantro if desired.
- Serve: Serve the Fiery Chicken Ramen immediately while hot. Adjust spice level with extra hot sauce or chili flakes to taste.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken is cooked to a safe internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Adjust hot sauce and chili flakes according to your preferred spice tolerance.
- Discard the ramen seasoning packets as they usually contain high sodium and unnecessary additives.
- For a milder version, omit cayenne pepper and reduce hot sauce amounts.
- The sauce can be made ahead and reheated gently before serving.
- Fresh herbs like cilantro and green onions add brightness and a fresh contrast to the rich sauce.
