Ingredients
Scale
Beef Mixture
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Dough and Topping
- 1 tube crescent roll dough
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it reaches the ideal temperature for baking the rollups evenly and to a golden brown.
- Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until it’s fully browned. Once cooked, drain off any excess fat to keep the rollups from being greasy.
- Season the Beef: Add the minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and onion powder to the skillet with the cooked beef. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2 minutes to meld the flavors.
- Add Cheese: Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese. Mix thoroughly until the cheese is melted into the meat mixture.
- Prepare Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles on a clean surface.
- Fill and Roll: Spoon a small amount of the cheesy beef mixture onto the wider end of each dough triangle. Then carefully roll up each triangle starting from the wide end, creating a tight roll.
- Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the rolled triangles onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them slightly apart to allow for baking expansion.
- Make Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter with dried parsley and garlic powder. Stir until well mixed.
- Brush with Butter: Generously brush each rollup with the garlic butter mixture, ensuring they’re well coated for flavor and a beautiful golden crust.
- Bake: Bake the rollups in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool and Serve: Remove the rollups from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving to allow the cheese to set and to avoid burns.
Notes
- You can substitute cheddar cheese with your favorite cheese such as mozzarella or pepper jack for different flavors.
- Make sure to drain the cooked beef well to avoid soggy dough.
- Serve these rollups with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce for added taste.
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chopped jalapeños to the beef mixture.
