Description

This Lazy Lasagna recipe offers a quick and easy alternative to traditional lasagna by using frozen cheese ravioli layered with tomato sauce and lots of cheese. Ready in under an hour, it’s perfect for a comforting weeknight dinner with minimal prep work.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 (25 oz) bag frozen cheese ravioli
  • 1 (24 oz) jar tomato sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure a hot environment for even baking.
  2. Prepare Baking Dish: Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce evenly on the bottom of a baking dish to prevent sticking and add flavor to the base.
  3. Layer Ravioli: Arrange a single layer of frozen cheese ravioli on top of the sauce. Do not thaw the ravioli before layering.
  4. Add Cheese: Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese over the ravioli to create a cheesy layer.
  5. Repeat Layers: Repeat the layers of tomato sauce, ravioli, and mozzarella cheese until all ingredients are used, finishing with a top layer of cheese.
  6. Cover and Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil to keep moisture in and bake for 30 minutes, allowing the ravioli to cook through.
  7. Uncover and Brown: Remove the foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes until the cheese on top is golden brown and bubbly.
  8. Cool and Serve: Let the lasagna cool slightly before serving to allow the layers to set and enhance flavor.

Notes

  • You can substitute the tomato sauce with marinara or your favorite pasta sauce for a different flavor.
  • Adding cooked ground beef or vegetables between layers can make the dish heartier.
  • Use whole grain or gluten-free ravioli to make it suitable for specific dietary needs.
  • Let the lasagna rest for about 5 minutes before serving to make slicing easier and prevent it from falling apart.
