Description

This Lemon and Thyme Roasted Sea Bass recipe features tender sea bass fillets roasted to perfection with fresh lemon slices, fragrant thyme, and a hint of garlic. This easy and flavorful dish is perfect for a quick and elegant dinner that highlights fresh, simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale

Sea Bass and Seasonings

  • 4 sea bass fillets (skin on or off, as preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 lemon, sliced into rounds
  • 4 sprigs fresh thyme (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for roasting the sea bass fillets.
  2. Prepare the sea bass: Pat the sea bass fillets dry with paper towels. Place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper or lightly greased to prevent sticking.
  3. Season the fillets: Drizzle the olive oil evenly over the fillets. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste. Distribute the minced garlic on top, if using. Lay lemon slices over the fillets and tuck the fresh thyme sprigs around and on top of the fish.
  4. Roast the sea bass: Transfer the baking tray to the oven and roast the fish for 12-15 minutes, or until the sea bass is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. The exact time can vary depending on the thickness of the fillets.
  5. Garnish and serve: Remove the fish from the oven and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve immediately with your choice of side dishes.

Notes

  • You can substitute fresh thyme with dried thyme if fresh is not available.
  • For extra flavor, marinate the sea bass with olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and thyme for 15 minutes before roasting.
  • Adjust roasting time for thicker or thinner fillets to avoid overcooking or undercooking.
  • Serve with a side of roasted vegetables or a crisp salad for a complete meal.
