Description

Moose Farts are delicious Canadian no-bake treats featuring a sweet combination of shredded coconut, graham cracker crumbs, chopped nuts, and mini chocolate chips bound together with sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract. These bite-sized balls are chilled for a perfect chewy texture and make for an easy, crowd-pleasing dessert or snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • Pinch of salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, mix together the shredded coconut, graham cracker crumbs, chopped nuts, mini chocolate chips, and a pinch of salt ensuring even distribution.
  2. Add Wet Ingredients: Pour in the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract. Stir thoroughly until the mixture forms a sticky, cohesive dough.
  3. Chill the Mixture: Place the bowl in the refrigerator and chill for about 30 minutes to firm up the dough, making it easier to handle.
  4. Form Balls: Remove the chilled mixture and scoop out small portions. Roll each portion into 1-inch diameter balls using your hands.
  5. Second Chill: Arrange the balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet or plate. Refrigerate again for at least 1 hour before serving to achieve the best texture.
  6. Store Properly: Keep the Moose Farts stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They are best enjoyed cold and also freeze well for extended storage.

Notes

  • For a fancier twist, roll the finished balls in additional shredded coconut or dip them in melted chocolate.
  • These treats are excellent for make-ahead occasions and freeze well for longer preservation.
