Dry Ingredients
- 2 cups sweetened shredded coconut
- 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- Pinch of salt
Wet Ingredients
- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, mix together the shredded coconut, graham cracker crumbs, chopped nuts, mini chocolate chips, and a pinch of salt ensuring even distribution.
- Add Wet Ingredients: Pour in the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract. Stir thoroughly until the mixture forms a sticky, cohesive dough.
- Chill the Mixture: Place the bowl in the refrigerator and chill for about 30 minutes to firm up the dough, making it easier to handle.
- Form Balls: Remove the chilled mixture and scoop out small portions. Roll each portion into 1-inch diameter balls using your hands.
- Second Chill: Arrange the balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet or plate. Refrigerate again for at least 1 hour before serving to achieve the best texture.
- Store Properly: Keep the Moose Farts stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They are best enjoyed cold and also freeze well for extended storage.
Notes
- For a fancier twist, roll the finished balls in additional shredded coconut or dip them in melted chocolate.
- These treats are excellent for make-ahead occasions and freeze well for longer preservation.
