Ingredients
Scale
Juice and Sweetener
- 5 lemons, juiced
- 1/3 cup honey (or other vegan honey substitute)
Liquid Base
- 1 cup water
- 3-4 cups water or sparkling water (to taste)
Fruit
- 1 1/2 cups pomegranate arils (seeds) or 1 cup pomegranate juice
Instructions
- Blend Ingredients. Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice, honey (or vegan substitute), 1 cup of water, and pomegranate arils to a blender. Blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and the ingredients are fully incorporated.
- Strain Mixture. Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer or sieve into a jug or pitcher to discard the pulp and hard bits of pomegranate seeds, ensuring a smooth lemonade texture.
- Dilute and Serve. Add the remaining 3 to 4 cups of water or sparkling water to the strained lemon-pomegranate mixture, stirring well to combine. Adjust the dilution according to your taste preference.
- Garnish and Chill. Serve the lemonade over ice, garnished with lemon slices and additional pomegranate arils if desired for an attractive presentation and extra flavor.
Notes
- Use sparkling water for a fizzy version of this lemonade.
- Adjust honey quantity if you prefer a sweeter or more tart drink.
- Straining is important to remove the grainy texture from pomegranate seeds.
- The recipe can be made ahead and stored chilled for best flavor.
- Replace honey with maple syrup or agave to keep it vegan-friendly.
