Description

A refreshing and vibrant Pomegranate Lemonade combining the tartness of freshly squeezed lemons with the sweet, tangy flavor of pomegranate. This easy-to-make beverage is sweetened with honey (or a vegan substitute) and can be served still or sparkling, perfect for warm days or as a delightful party drink.

Ingredients

Scale

Juice and Sweetener

  • 5 lemons, juiced
  • 1/3 cup honey (or other vegan honey substitute)

Liquid Base

  • 1 cup water
  • 3-4 cups water or sparkling water (to taste)

Fruit

  • 1 1/2 cups pomegranate arils (seeds) or 1 cup pomegranate juice

Instructions

  1. Blend Ingredients. Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice, honey (or vegan substitute), 1 cup of water, and pomegranate arils to a blender. Blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and the ingredients are fully incorporated.
  2. Strain Mixture. Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer or sieve into a jug or pitcher to discard the pulp and hard bits of pomegranate seeds, ensuring a smooth lemonade texture.
  3. Dilute and Serve. Add the remaining 3 to 4 cups of water or sparkling water to the strained lemon-pomegranate mixture, stirring well to combine. Adjust the dilution according to your taste preference.
  4. Garnish and Chill. Serve the lemonade over ice, garnished with lemon slices and additional pomegranate arils if desired for an attractive presentation and extra flavor.

Notes

  • Use sparkling water for a fizzy version of this lemonade.
  • Adjust honey quantity if you prefer a sweeter or more tart drink.
  • Straining is important to remove the grainy texture from pomegranate seeds.
  • The recipe can be made ahead and stored chilled for best flavor.
  • Replace honey with maple syrup or agave to keep it vegan-friendly.
