Description

These Spicy Beef Dumpling Rolls are a deliciously crispy and flavorful appetizer or snack featuring a savory ground beef filling mixed with fresh vegetables and bold Asian-inspired seasonings. Wrapped in spring roll wrappers and fried to golden perfection, they’re perfect dipped in soy sauce or your favorite spicy chili sauce.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1/4 cup grated carrots
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce (or more for extra spice)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wrapper and Frying

  • 1 package spring roll wrappers (or dumpling wrappers)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, shredded cabbage, grated carrots, chopped green onions, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Add soy sauce, sesame oil, sriracha sauce, rice vinegar, black pepper, and salt. Mix everything together until well combined to form the flavorful filling.
  2. Assemble the Dumpling Rolls: Lay a spring roll or dumpling wrapper on a clean surface. Place a spoonful of the beef mixture in the center of the wrapper. Fold the sides of the wrapper over the filling and roll tightly, sealing the edges with a little water to ensure they don’t open while frying.
  3. Heat the Oil: Heat vegetable oil in a large frying pan or deep fryer over medium-high heat. Use enough oil to cover at least half of the dumpling rolls for even frying and crispiness.
  4. Fry the Dumpling Rolls: Carefully place the dumpling rolls in the hot oil, a few at a time, to avoid overcrowding. Fry for 4-5 minutes, turning occasionally until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  5. Serve: Serve the spicy beef dumpling rolls hot with dipping sauces such as soy sauce, sriracha, or sweet chili sauce for a delicious and spicy appetizer or snack.

Notes

  • Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying to avoid greasy rolls.
  • Seal the wrapper edges with water to prevent filling leakage.
  • You can adjust the spiciness by varying the amount of sriracha sauce.
  • For a lighter option, oven-bake the rolls at 400°F for 15-20 minutes turning halfway.
  • Store leftover rolls in an airtight container and reheat in an oven or air fryer for best crispiness.
