Ingredients
Scale
For the Margarita
- ½ cup your choice of spirit (tequila recommended)
- ¼ cup triple sec or orange liqueur
- â…“ cup freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 cup fresh watermelon, blended and strained
- 1-2 tbsp agave syrup (adjust to taste)
- Ice
For Garnish and Glass Rim
- Coarse salt or TajÃn, for rimming (optional)
- Watermelon wedges, for garnish
- Lime wedges, for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Glasses: Run a lime wedge around the rim of each glass to moisten it. Then dip the rims into coarse salt or TajÃn to create a flavorful and tangy coating. Set the glasses aside to allow the rim to set while you prepare the cocktail.
- Mix the Margarita: Start by blending fresh watermelon until smooth, then strain it carefully to remove any pulp for a clean juice. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes, then pour in your choice of spirit, triple sec, freshly squeezed lime juice, the strained watermelon juice, and agave syrup. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until the mixture is thoroughly chilled and well combined.
- Serve & Garnish: Fill each prepared glass with fresh ice cubes. Strain the margarita mixture over the ice to fill the glass. Garnish each glass with a fresh watermelon wedge and a lime wedge to enhance the presentation and add extra freshness.
- Enjoy: Sip and savor your refreshing Watermelon Margarita, perfect for warm weather and festive occasions.
Notes
- Adjust the agave syrup quantity based on the sweetness of the watermelon and your personal taste preference.
- Using TajÃn for rimming adds a nice spicy and tangy flavor, but coarse salt is a classic alternative.
- For a frozen version, blend all ingredients with ice instead of shaking.
- Use ripe, seedless watermelon for the best flavor and easier blending.
- Make sure to strain the watermelon juice well to avoid pulp in the cocktail.
